Þórður Hans (f. 1992) leggur stund á myndlistanám í Haag í Hollandi.
Hann er einn stofnenda listamannakollektívsins Art Studio Art Collective og prentverkakollektívsins Postprent. Listsköpun hans hefur undanfarið beinst að tengslum mannfólks í gegnum tól og tæki, þá sérstaklega garðáhöld. Þar ber helst að nefna verðlaunagripinn Gullskófluna sem veittur er fyrir vel unnin störf í garðyrkju af bæjarstjóra Mosfellsbæjar og Tól til samlífis, sem er þriggja manna skóflustunguskófla. Verkið sem sýnt er á Plan-B er beint framhald af þessari vinnu.
Þórður Hans (b. 1992) currently lives and studies in The Hague.
He is one of the founders of the art collective Art Studio Art Collective and the online printmakers collective Postprent. His art practice as of lately has to do with the study of human to human relations and gardening tools. The results of that research include the Golden shovel of Mosfellsbær, a prize object given by the mayor of Mosfellsbær for excellent performance in gardening and the groundbreaking, three handled shovel. The work exhibited at Plan-B is a continuation of that work.
Í flokkunarkerfi líffræðinnar fyrirfinnast sex ólík form samlífis. Þau eru skilgreind út frá áhrifum langtímasamneytis lífvera. Þau geta ýmist verið hagstæð, óhagstæð eða hlutlaus. Samlífi getur til að mynda verið hagstætt fyrir einn en óhagstætt fyrir annan eða jafnvel báðum óhagstætt.
Verkið er tilraun til að yfirfæra þessi ólíku samlífisform á mannlega tilveru, þó ekki sé nema í augnablik. Með natni geta tveir eða fleiri aðilar notið verksins saman en sé óvarlega farið eða ásetningurinn ekki samrýmanlegur er hætt við að annar eða báðir upplifi óþægindi.
Within the taxonomy of biology there are six different forms of symbiosis. They are defined by the different effects of the long term coexistence of organisms. The effect on either organism can be harmful, beneficial or neutral. The same symbiosis can for example be beneficial for one but harmful for the other.
This work is an attempt to enforce these different forms of symbiosis on human relations, if only momentarily. If everyone acts carefully two or more people can enjoy the piece together, but if not it’s likely that either one or both might get uncomfortable.
