Kristín Helga Ríkharðsdóttir (f. 1993) útskrifaðist úr myndlistardeild Listaháskóla Íslands vorið 2016 og stundar nú framhaldsnám í myndlist við New York University Steinhardt. Einnig fór hún í skiptinám í Universität der Künste Berlin árið 2015. Kristín hefur verið virk í listalífi á Íslandi og erlendis. Hún hefur meðal annars sýnt í 80WSE í New York (2020), Norræna húsinu (2019), Bismút (2019), IDEAL prostor í Prag (2019) og Nýlistasafninu (2018). Hún var hluti af sýningastjórateyminu Rólegt og Rómantískt í Harbinger árið 2019. Kristín sat í varastjórn Nýlistasafnsins frá 2018 til 2020.
Kristín Helga Ríkharðsdóttir (1993) graduated from the Fine Art department of Iceland University of the Arts in 2016 and is currently a part of the Studio Art master program at the New York University Steinhardt. Kristín has been active in exhibiting, screening and taking part in various projects both in Iceland and abroad. Among past exhibitions have been at 80WSE in New York (2020), the Nordic House (2019), Bismút (2019), IDEAL prostor in Prague (2019) and the Living Art Museum (2018). She was a part of the curatorial team Romance and Relaxation (Rólegt og Rómantískt) in Harbinger 2019. Kristín was a member of the alternative board of the Living Art Museum from 2018 to 2020.
Verkið Hendur (e. Hands) er videóverka sería sem inniheldur þrjú vídeóverk. Hvert videó er sjálfstætt og hefur sinn eigin titil en videóin eiga það sameiginlegt að þau eru séð frá sjónarhorni söguhetju sem heitir Hendur.
Í verkinu segir Hendur frá lífi sínum og væntingum í hvíslandi talanda. Hendur er vinnufíkill sem búinn er til úr tveimur ruslatínslum. Hann er að brenna út í starfi og fastur í vítahring ofur-einmanaleikans. Þar til einn daginn tekur hann málin í sínar eigin hendur, bókstaflega. Hann býr til einu sönnu ástina sína úr snjó og með því breytist lífið að eilífu. Við taka þá ný vandamál sem innihalda flutninga í risastóra kartöfluflögu.
Fyrsti þátturinn heitir These Are My Hands, annar þátturinn heitir How I Met My Baby og sá þriðji The Giant Chip. Athugið að verkið er á ensku, án texta.
The work Hands is a three-part video work series. Each video is independent and has its own title and tells the story of Hands, a person who is made out of two grabbers/trash pickers. Hands is unable to stop working and experiences a mix of burn-out and extreme loneliness. Until one day it takes matters into its own hands, literally. It makes a snowman who becomes its baby and partner. Hands' life changes forever. But with the new life, new problems appear. Ones that include pressure into moving into a giant chip.
The first part is called These Are My Hands, second part is How I Met My Baby and the third is The Giant Chip. The work is in English with no subtitles.
