OPEN CALL 2018

With great pleasure an open call is announced for artists to participate in the Plan-B Art Festival 2018. We ask potential artists to submit their proposals by e-mail to planbartfestival@gmail.com by midnight on the 20th of May 2018. All inquires will be answered no later than 31st of May. 

We ask artists to submit work from all fields of fine art. That could be all from performances to video installations. Artists chosen to participate will receive financial support for their participation. 

Plan-B Art Festival will be held on the 9th - 12th of August 2018. It will be held for the 3rd time in the small picturesque town of Borgarnes in the West Region of Iceland, only about an hour drive from Reykjavík.

Það er sönn ánægja að tilkynna að opið er fyrir umsóknir fyrir listafólk að taka þátt í Plan-B Art Festival 2018. Við óskum eftir að umsækjendur sendi tillögur á netfangið planbartfestival@gmail.com fyrir miðnætti þann 20. maí næstkomandi.  Öllum umsóknum verður svarað eigi síðar en 31. maí.

Við köllum eftir öllum gerðum af list, allt frá gjörningum til videoverka og öllu þar á milli. Listafólk sem er valið til þátttöku fá greidda þóknun fyrir sitt framlag. 

Hátíðin í ár verður haldin í þriðja sinn 9. –12. ágúst í Borgarnesi.

CALL FOR ARTISTS 2017

Plan-B art festival is at it again. It is taking place in the west of Iceland, Borgarnes the weekend of 11-13th of August 2017. This is the second year around the art festival will take place

As we want to thank all the artists that took part last year we are happy to announce the four artists that have been invited to take part in the festival 2017 !!

The application process

Please send us a little bit about yourself and your work, with the maximum of five images of older/new work. Proposals can be fully developed artworks / projects or unformed ideas, adaptable to the variety of untraditional venues. The participating artists will receive a fee of 40.000.- ISK. Please include your name, e-mail and phone number in the application.

Deadline for submissions: 20th of June

Valfell Community Center will be available as a studio space for artists from the 24th of July until the end of the festival.

Plan-B is the first art festival of its kind in the West of Iceland where attention is directed towards contemporary art and conversation between mixed media. The festival will be held during the weekend of 11th –13th of August in four venues in the town of Borgarnes and an event night at Studio Mjólk, a charming old cowshed right outside of town where performances and sound installations will be exhibited.

The website will be updated as we go and updates will be posted on the Facebook page – so make sure you follow us there www.facebook.com/planbartfestival + Plan-B´s Instagram will become alive as the time progresses

Plan-B is all about the experience, a new venue for up and coming artists and welcoming guests to Borgarnes !
